LEADERSHIP

Strategic Leadership Foundations

                To be an effective leader, one must first learn to follow. Students will decipher the most important traits of a good leader then apply what they learn to be used in their own ministry. This impactful assessment of leadership and authority will answer crucial questions about how one should lead. Transformational Leadership

                There are several different ways to lead. One must determine which kind of leader he or she is, then decide whether that type of leader is effective. This is one way to lead. Transformational leaders know how to encourage, inspire and motivate. Four components will be studied. During this study, students may find the different kinds of leaders in their lives. Four components of this type of leadership will be studied. Book: The Transformation Factor by Frank J. Harrison III

Leadership & Communication

                Communication is a key factor in any setting whether it is personal, professional or social. To be understood, one must effectively communicate. In the area of leadership, it is crucial. “The most effective message is the one you live” (Maxwell). Book: The 16 Undeniable Laws of Communication: Apply Them and Make the Most of Your Message by John C. Maxwell.

Team Leadership & Conflict Management

                Conflicts will arise. Prospective students will learn methods of resolving conflict in a church setting. A church is made up of imperfect people. To restore peace, combat offences while still being a godly leader is challenging. Before one is a leader, the skills to resolve conflict must be acquired. Book: If You Bite & Devour One Another by Alexander Strauch.

Global Leadership & Diversity

                A person who holds any kind of leadership position in a church will be able to use the knowledge gained from this course. Students will be able to interpret, categorize and further understand why people are so different. This knowledge is invaluable to anyone working in a church setting and may be particularly helpful to someone considering working in a diverse community whether that is global or just other cultures connected to a church. Book: The Emotional Intelligence of Jesus: Relational Smarts or Religious Leaders by Roy M. Oswald & Arland Jacobson.

Organizational Leadership

                Students will find and internalize areas of leadership they may never have known of or noticed. This study is based on a highly respected author about leadership. Book: The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John C. Maxwell

PERSONAL CARE

Managing Stress & Avoiding Burnout

Every pastor faces deep levels of stress, which can lead to burnout. The intense desire of a leader to help each member grow sometimes causes great stress. Leading one’s own family as well as a body of believers creates two areas in which a pastor is deeply involved and committed. If that describes your life, the author of the text used knows where you are. Book: Better After Burnout: One Leader’s Story by Jathan Maricelli

Personal Life of a Leader

Leaders do not escape the problems faced by other humans. Throughout this course, students continuously interpret what it means to be a pastor, but also deals with the personal struggles. Students will learn how to navigate them. Book: The 3-R Method: A Guide for Ministry Longevity by Jathan Maricelli

Moving Forward

                You have studied, in the previous two courses, about how to handle burnout, stress, and other things leaders face. In this course, you will navigate your way back. Both the Christian walk and leadership journey require consistent progress. This challenges one to move out of the status quo. Book: Next Level Leader by Eugene Wilson

APOSTOLIC CONCENTRATION

Theology of Human Spirituality

                Hundreds of academic works are used to construct a particular kind of argument. The author of the book presents, argues that the first century church had a very specific Christology which is used to prove Jesus is the one true God. That is very different from what the church later came to believe. This course combines theological, biblical, and historical methods. Book: I AM: Oneness Pentecostal Theology by David S. Oneness Theology

                God hated the sin that entered His creation. He made the heavens and the earth and all that was created. There was no other god but Him. Defend to yourself; ask yourself questions. Some good God-fearing people can see duality, but not oneness. Make it your own. Book: Questions Oneness Pentecostals Don’t Ask: How I see the Elephant by Glen Davison MA

A Look Into Something Uncomfortable

                Pentecostals have heard about it, but most do not ever discus the fact that Satan can replicate anything God has. It is not real. Counterfeit anointing is one of those subjects. If this is an area of interest to you, then study this. Book: Plain Wrapped Anointing by George Pantages
